01/01/07 - It's our 3rd year !
> Extreme Fighting Machines enters it's 3rd year. The uptake for Extreme Fighting Machines to date has been huge with our ticketed shows last year ALL selling out - yes that's every single show ! After 2 years of working with some of the most professional robotic teams in the country the Extreme Fighting Machines format is now ready to be taken to the next level. There's so much we'd like to tell you about the 2007 season but can't right at this moment, but if you thought 2006 was a great year, you've not seen anything yet !
01/01/07 - XFM Lends it's support to RobotsLive
> Robots Live in Leicester. Extreme Fighting Machines have for some time been working on plans to develop a heavyweight arena to compliment our already class-leading Featherweight arena. However we are now pleased to say that we'll be partnering with Robots Live (www.robotslive.co.uk) and for our future events into 2007 we'll be using their arena for our heavyweight work. It's fresh, modern and fits in with the XFM style. They're doing a show in February so head over to their website and take a look !
28/04/06 - XFM Kicks off its 2006 Season
> With the most successful first year behind us of any live event organiser in the UK with all but one of our shows being sell-outs we're looking forward to our 2006 season. This year will see the addition of new exciting arena effects as well as a brand new House Robot to put fear into the hearts of our valiant Roboteers. We're at the biggest outdoor event of the UK, the Farnborough International Airshow, a real commercial airshow as well as a public weekend seeing the first UK appearance of the new Airbus A380 for example. We're also pushing roboteering out of the sports center venue and into top regional venues such as The New Wolsey Theatre. 2006 is going to be a great year for XFM - and you're invited along for the ride !
01/11/05 - XFM Wraps it up for 2006
> The Extreme Fighting Machines Halloween Spooktacular in Colchester was a massive success with everyone attending having a great time. Our congratulations go to Team Scorpion for their first win in a hard fought battle against Little Hitter in the grand final. With all the roboteers in costume for Halloween, plus the robots and the audience too - it will certainly be an event to remember ! That's it for XFM calendar in 2005, we've got more planned for 2006 including visits back to past venues, and new shows such as the Farnborough International Airshow ! Keep an eye on the website over winter as we'll be keeping you up to date with our 2006 calender.
09/09/05 - XFM's 2006 Events
> Gathering momentum and going from strength to strength, 2006 will see XFM move up a gear in the shows that its doing. Over the winter months more investment backed by 'Team Storm' the current Robot Wars World Champions will be poured into the XFM arena and shows meaning that 2006 really will be a bumper year for Robot fans. To make sure you're the first to know about XFM's 2006 calendar ensure you sign up to the XFM Newsletter - currently with over 3,000 subscribers !
05/09/05 - Little Spinner Retakes the XFM Crown
> In a hard fought weekend of competition, Little Spinner manages to take the XFM Norwich Crown. In a nail biting final which at one point looked like it could go either eay, Ewan Gimson with his robot 'Stingray' seemed to be putting up a sterling defence to the unstoppable force of 'Little Spinner' until eventually one fantastic hit from Little Spinner reduced Stingray to parts as motors and wheels bounced off the walls and roof of the XFM arena. Little Spinner was back as the XFM Champion once more.
06/06/05 - Team Tilly are the XFM Ipswich Champions
> In a hard fought fight across 4 shows, Team Tilly with their robot expertly driven by Shane managed to win the XFM Ipswich competition putting them up there alongside previous winners such as the fantastic 'Little Hitter'. You could cut the tension with a knife as we awaited the judge's deciscion at the end of the show. XFM has been inundated with emails from the audience congratulating the roboteers on a fantastic show. Pictures and movie clips from the show will be coming soon !
30/05/05 - Suffolk Gets Ready for a Robotic Week
> Robots take to the streets of Suffolk this week with XFM on tour at the Suffolk Show. Straight after the Suffolk Show on the 4th and 5th of June the XFM Featherweight Challenge heads to Woodbridge School just outside Ipswich for another 2 day robot extravaganza hot on the heels of the sell-out XFM Featherweight Challenge in Cambridge.
27/05/05 - XFM Announces More Events
> The pace for XFM doesn't stop for a beat as we've just announced events in Norwich and Colchester. The Colchester event will see the XFM Halloween Spooktacular show take to the town with some frights in store for all who attend (roboteers and audience alike !).
03/05/05 - XFM Cambridge a massive success
> Congratulations to 'Little Hitter' on their amazing success at XFM Cambridge and winning the first date of our tour. Over the Bank Holiday weekend XFM ran 6 total sell-out shows at Hills Road College Cambridge were we saw some of the best featherweight fights to date in the UK. Everyone is looking forward to XFM Ipswich on the 4th and 5th of June which we're expecting to be even bigger and better ! You can catch some of what went on at XFM Cambridge here.
27/04/05 - Extra Shows at Cambridge now SOLD OUT
> The extra shows we added for Bank Holiday Monday have now totally sold out. There will be a small number of tickets on the door on a first-come first-served basis as a result of cancellations etc. If you want to come and see Extreme Fighting Machines our next show is in Ipswich on the 4th and 5th of June and although tickets are selling fast there are still tickets left for all shows.
27/04/05 - XFM Cambridge is officially a SELL OUT
> XFM Cambridge Saturday shows SELL OUT. The original 2 days for XFM Cambridge have totally sold out. We have spoken to the roboteers and to the venue and asked if it was possible to add an extra day - and the answer was a resounding 'YES'. Therefore we've 2 extra shows on the Bank Holiday Monday the 2nd of May with shows at 12:30 and 3:30pm.

17/04/05 - Q103 Join Extreme Fighting Machines in Cambridge > Listeners to Cambridge's Q103 should stay tuned. As tickets sell out faster we've given Q103's Big Russ and Helen tickets to XFM Cambridge to give away, as well as a 'Golden Ticket' giving one listener the chance to drive a robot at the show ! Tune in to their breakfast show from the 25th of April to hear what's going on as they give away tickets, the chance to take part - and the might even have a go at building their own machine as well ! Plus the 'Black Thunders' will be joining XFM during the event - so watch out ! |

17/04/05 - XFM Cambridge - Competitors and Judges Announced
> We have now published the latest list of competitors for XFM Cambridge. There are still teams applying for the event so this list shouldn't be taken as complete yet, with some teams still to confirm their applications. We would also like to welcome Ian Lockhart (from Robot Wars' Lambsy team) who will be joining us the 30th of April as a guest judge. To read the latest on the robots competing click here.
16/04/05 - XFM Challenge Arena Update
> The XFM Challenge Arena underwent its first test build this weekend. The base structure for the arena was tested as was the polycarbonate and lighting-rig carrying self climbing truss structure over the top which rises to almost 5m high when fully erected. 11/04/05 - Throttle and Vanguard heading to Essex
> The Tendring/Essex Show will be playing host to Throttle and Vanguard on the 9th of July. They'll be joining other teams from the hit BBC2 series 'Robot Wars' and taking part in demonstrations of what they're capable off and some fights.
24/03/05 - XFM Event Tickets on Sale
> XFM Tickets now on sale. Tickets for the XFM Cambridge Featherweight Challenge and the XFM Ipswich Featherweight Challenge are now on sale through the XFM Online Ticket Shop. All our tickets are priced at just £5 making XFM events great value for all the family to come and see.
24/03/05 - Briggs and Stratton House Robots to invade North Wales.
> Throttle and Vanguard are going to Wales !. We've just had confirmation that Throttle and Vanguard will be attending the Denbigh Robot Event 2005. The shows are running on April 9th and 10th with shows on the Saturday evening from 5:30 - 7:30, and then shows on the Sunday from 10:30 - 12:30, then 1pm - 3pm and a final show from 3:30pm until 5:30pm. Last year's show was a massive success and you can be sure that this year will be bigger and better than before.

> 2005 Website Launched. Its a brand new year and time for a brand new website - the XFM 2005 website is now up and alive and reflects XFM's new look for the new year.
